BUG RECYCLING ADVERT

My first ever client brief, an advert encouraging people to use the bins in their cinema after they leave and promoting recycling!

CREATING BEATRIX AND FERN

Beatrix and Fern were my protagonists in this advert, with Beatrix being a farmer (inspired by a common carder bee) and Fern being a performer (inspired by a blue morpho butterfly).

The pair are in their 30's and are both partners, with Beatrix being neutral and stubborn and Fern being enthusiastic and social. I wanted them to be opposites that balanced each other out and reflected that in personality and in their styles and pallettes!

EXPRESSIONS

When it came to the designs and expressions of Beatrix and Fern, I wanted to show more of their feelings through their movement. They were characters without most facial features, so I needed to exaggerate their expressions through their eyes, their posture and movement.

I managed to do this quite well! Expressions and exaggerated movement are two things I enjoy working with as it's - what I believe to be - the best ways to portray a character's personality and feeling.
